Beer Birds

Sahale Ale Works came to us for a labeling system that could match their speed in creating varietals, sense of humor, and budget. Our solution was creating a simple skeleton using an illustrated falcon in profile (Sahale is an indigenous word loosely meaning two things, “falcon” & “high place”). We could then design around, or graffiti over, his likeness per style. This allowed us to have fun with the brands naming conventions and infuse the humor of the brand and its owners in every offering.

The abstracted landscapes featured on the glassware and beyond were meant to bring forward a sense of beauty and elegance when drinking in situation. We wanted there to be a demarcation point where the craftsmanship and merits of the beer should be taken seriously.
